Your nightstand drawer should be an oasis, promoting rest and relaxation. – HT
1. Declutter
Take everything out of your drawer. Lay it out on your bed. Make three piles. Keep in drawer, toss, and relocate. Pull out the things you will keep, first, and set them aside. Then, discard receipts, old pens, etc. Last, put the things away that you need to relocate.
2. Decide
Really get intentional about the things that you need in your drawer. Look at the things you chose to keep and refine the items. Only keep items in your drawer that promote sleep and relaxation.
3. Divide
Organize with small dividers so that everything has a place. You want to be able to easily grab and put away, stress free. Designating a spot for everything cuts down on clutter and makes it hard to throw in items that don’t belong.
4. Discover
Is there anything that you want to add to make your drawer more luxurious? A candle, a lotion, an eye mask? Ask yourself, what relaxes you? What promotes you to sleep? I enjoy lighting a lavender candle and rubbing lavender massage oil on my weary shoulders and hands.
5. Decompress
Enjoy your simple drawer and let it be the inspiration to organize many more drawers. Remember, this is the last thing you see before you sleep so make it a small oasis that is beautiful and relaxing to the eye.
