Years ago I went down dozens of Internet rabbit holes to find a great healthful drink.
I’d been reading up on how what we put into our bodies affects our health. I was drinking more water (something I started based on these reflection questions!) and including anti-inflammatory ingredients in my food. But what about getting great ingredients through a special drink?
The result? This good gut tea 🤩
I tinkered with the concoction until I fell in love. It warms me up from the inside out AND supports my health. I drink it all year long. In the fall and winter, I love to drink it hot for a sweet evening treat. In the hotter months, it’s great cold for a quick pick-me-up. The ingredients are anti-inflammatory and promote good sleep.
What’s not to love??!
INGREDIENTS + RECIPE: ANTI-INFLAMMATORY GOOD GUT TEA
Hot Water
1 Organic Chamomile Tea Bag
1 Organic Ginger/Turmeric Tea Bag
1/4-1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1 Tbsp Honey
1 Tsp Ginger (ground or fresh)
3-5g Collagen or Glycine (optional)
Steep ginger and chamomile teas. Add cinnamon, honey, ginger, and collagen or glycine for maximum anti-inflammatory influence. Enjoy!
RECIPE NOTES
If you don’t have each of these ingredients on hand, improvise with what you have in your cupboards.
Use frozen crushed ginger cubes from Wal-mart or Target.
Trader Joe’s is a great store for ginger/turmeric tea and other hot teas.
In the hotter months, make your tea and store in the refrigerator. Serve over ice.
