This is the story of how a cube organizer can change a life.

A friend of mine from kindergarten (YES, KINDERGARTEN!) reached out for help.

He’s a single parent of an awesome four-year-old. He’s balancing graduate school, running a small business, and parenting… so he needed UOL to come in and give him new systems to make daily life run smoother.

First on the list: an easier way to get his son and himself out the door in the morning!!

Before Upstate Organized Living, they were living out of laundry baskets and toys didn’t have a home, so they were everywhere… not fun to step over toys to get dressed every morning and trip on your way out the door. (scroll down for the after pic!!!)

HOW WE CHANGED THINGS

Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best.

We used one of our favorites, a 6-cube organizer storage unit. First, we ordered this Walmart cube organizer with soft cube bins his son can slide out and put back easily. Next, we labeled each bin with these Target labels. Last, we put toys and clothes away in the new system!

TWO MORE WAYS YOU CAN USE A CUBE ORGANIZER

NUMBER ONE:

There’s a reason this organizer is so popular! We’ve also used it on other children’s spaces, like storing books + activities.

NUMBER TWO:

In addition to a bookshelf, you can also use a cube organizer as a storage unit for small cloths + clothes, like storing dust rags & hand towels, or tiny baby clothes! Like @declutteredmom shows how she organizers her rags!

Now my friend and his son have a simple system that they can both help with, and mornings aren’t so hectic. That’s what it’s ALL ABOUT!!!!!
