Rice is my go-to healthful and quick food. There’s so much going on in a given day that I want to look forward to what I’m eating. I always try to have some pre-cooked staples on hand to throw together into a meal! LIKE RICE. Why pre-cook it? I’m glad you asked.
1. Did you know rice is better for you after it is cooked and cooled, and then reheated?
Yep, your body processes its starch and nutrients more efficiently, which leads to energy rather than depleted energy.
2. It’s easy to prep.
Especially If you have a rice cooker. You can set it and forget it. If you’re cooking it on the stove, you can still make it easy. Pick a time you’re already cooking another meal, and throw some rice in a pot to store for another time.
3. It is versatile. The end.
You can pair and mix it with so many things with it’s almost ridiculous. My favorites: quick chicken fried rice and simple chili.
It’s delicious with beef, seasoning and summer zucchini! First, saute or roast your zucchini and add your beef, salt, pepper, and garlic powder to your skillet. Then add your pre-cooked rice for a delicious, nutritious summer skillet meal!
WHERE SHOULD I GET MY RICE?
There are some great choices in the grocery store! My FAVORITE brand is Lundberg Family Farms.
Lundberg is a terrific family farm with sustainable and clean practices since 1937. As a general rule, California-grown is the way to go!! California has the lowest amount of heavy metals in the entire world. So less arsenic and harmful chemicals are ending up in your rice!
This brand has a lot of different types of rice and I would eat them all! I am so proud companies like this exist! You can find their products online and on their website.
Near Greenville, Greer, Simpsonville, Mauldin, Traveler’s Rest, and Taylors, you can shop for this brand in Publix, Harris Teeter, and Swamp Rabbit Cafe!
